LISTEN: Yorkshire Silent Film Festival brings Hitchcock thriller to Morecambe Winter Gardens

Morecambe Winter Gardens’ 125th anniversary season of classic cinema with live music continues with Hitchcock’s first thriller, The Lodger.

Yorkshire Silent Film Festival returns to Morecambe’s beautiful Winter Gardens theatre with another classic silent film, Hitchcock’s extraordinary thriller The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog, with live music, on Sunday 24th July at 7pm.

The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog was Alfred Hitchcock’s first thriller, released in 1927, and based on a novel about the Jack the Ripper murders. It’s a gripping tale of mystery, jealousy and suspense, which will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

The film also has a special connection to Morecambe through its star, the matinee idol Ivor Novello.

We've been chatting to Artistic Director of the Festival, Jonny Best, to find out more:
