Fire crews were called to rescue three horses who had fallen through ice on the Lancaster Canal.
They attended the stretch near to the Bay Gateway at Slyne at just before 10am on Monday morning, January 5.
Three fire engines from Lancaster, Silverdale and Morecambe along with the swift water rescue team were sent to the incident.
Firefighters wearing PPE and using small tools rescued the horses.
Fire crews were on scene for approximately two hours and fifteen minutes.
