Police have launched an investigation after a report of a rape in Lancaster.
Officers were called at 5.30am on Sunday (May 1) to a report that a woman had been seriously sexually assaulted off Mary Street in Lancaster city centre.
Enquiries are under way and the woman is being supported by specially trained officers.
A police spokesperson said: "We believe this to be an isolated incident and reassurance patrols have been stepped up in the area.
