An athlete from Lancaster is preparing to take on a gruelling 24-hour challenge of a three-hour swim, six-hour run and 12 hour bike ride to raise funds for cancer research.
Aaron Sharples will embark on an ultra triathlon on September 1 to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Aaron, 32, will swim 400 lengths of Salt Ayre Sports Centre pool, then run for six hours around the Salt Ayre track, then is aiming to cycle 180km in 25km loops around the local area.
He is raising money for Cancer Research UK after his uncle died from cancer and other members of his family have also been affected by the disease.
Aaron, who works for Heysham Power Stations, has raised £600 through his fundraising page.
