Tributes have been paid to a ‘much loved’ teacher from Silverdale, who passed away last week.
Andrew Swindley had been reported missing and was sadly found dead after a police search.
Andrew’s wife Sarah Swindley, is raising money for Bipolar UK in his memory.
She said: ‘’Andrew was loved so much by me his wife and by our amazing sons Eddie and George. He inspired so many young people though his drama teaching.
‘’We have had so many happy years together but we were always stalked by the shadow of Andrew’s mental ill health.
‘’People are asking what they can do - there is nothing that can bring him back but we can help bipolar UK to try to prevent other families feeling the pain we are today.’’
Andrew was Head of Drama at Saint Aidans C of E High School in Preesall for 14 years.
In a statement, the school said: ‘’We are heartbroken by the news that Mr Swindley has passed away.
‘’He inspired generations of Saint Aidan’s students with his knowledge and infectious love of the theatre and his larger than life personality. He will be sorely missed by his students, his form and all of his colleagues, and we have been overwhelmed with tributes from ex-students who have said how important Mr Swindley was to them when they were at Saint Aidan’s.
‘’The thoughts and prayers of the whole Saint Aidan’s community are with Mr Swindley’s family and friends.’’
