A local housebuilder has donated £3,500 to Lancaster City Juniors through its Community Champions initiative.
The donation from Persimmon Homes Lancashire will help meet the essential costs of running the club, ensuring their facilities provide the best possible experience for players of all ages.
In addition, the club is actively raising funds to support important ground improvements, including creating a safe and accessible disabled access route at their ground.
Mandy Bannon, Councillor for Marsh ward said: "It's great that Persimmon Homes are supporting Lancaster City Juniors FC with this welcome donation.
‘’The funding will enable the club to improve its ground by creating disabled access. The football club does fantastic work, not only encouraging young people into sport which is amazing in itself, but also helping to bring local families and the community together around the beautiful game."
Gavin Winder, Senior Engineer at Persimmon Homes Lancashire, added: “We are delighted to support Lancaster City Juniors Football Club.
“As a Lancaster based business, we are always looking for opportunities to support our local communities and local people. We hope this funding will create a lasting benefit for the community and I wish all and Lancaster City Juniors the very best for the season ahead.”
Peter Davies at Lancaster City Juniors, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Persimmon Homes Lancashire for this generous donation. Community support like this makes a real difference to our club, helping us provide the best possible environment for our players and their families.
‘’The funding will also support our plans to improve accessibility at the ground, ensuring everyone can enjoy being part of Lancaster City Juniors. On behalf of everyone at the club, thank you for your support."
