Train passengers with Northern rail routes through Lancaster and Morecambe are being advised not to travel today as ongoing severe weather is affecting services.
Storm Franklin is causing significant disruption to the Northern network.
A spokesperson said: ‘’Customers should expect delays and cancellations and are strongly advised not to travel across the whole Northern network.
‘’Due to the severe weather and numerous incidents, caused by the storm, train services in the North West will shortly start to be reintroduced where possible with more services added as the day passes. Knock on disruption is expected for the rest of the day.’’
All trains had been suspended until around 11am.
Northern tickets dated for Friday 18, Saturday 19, Sunday 20 and Monday 21 February will be valid on Northern services until Tuesday 22 February.
Other rail providers are also advising of revised timetables, with the advice to check before you travel.
