We had an amazing day hosting the 2023 Lancaster Christmas Lights Switchon in the city centre!
Massive crowds packed into Market Square on Sunday to watch an afternoon of live free family entertainment, headlined by Toploader.
When the Christmas lights were switched on at around 5.15pm, people stretched for as far as the eye could see, all the way from the stage outside the City Museum to Horseshoe Corner and beyond!
The lights were switched on by the Wood family who raised the most amount of money in the Santa Dash for Cancer Care.

This annual one-mile race of people dressed as Father Christmas kicked off the day's festivities, backed by local samba drumming group Samba Espirito.

Beyond Radio's Greg Lambert then introduced the acts onto stage, with help from Beyond Bear, Vanessa Ramsden, Paul Whitehouse, Mat Cook and the Beyond Radio team.

Performers were the Laura Sandham School of Dance, Gabriella and Jasmine, The Performance Studios, the cast of A Christmas Carol at The Dukes, the cast of Sleeping Beauty at the Grand, The Manfredis, Give It Some, C and C Entertainments, and Toploader, famed for their hits including 'Dancing in the Moonlight'.
The event was organised by Lancaster BID (Business Improvement District).
Our photographer Josh Brandwood and the Beyond Radio team were out and about to capture the sights of a memorable day!
