Emergency crews rescued a person who had fallen down cliffs at Silverdale this afternoon.
The incident happened earlier near Holgates Holiday Park, prompting a multi-agency response.
The Morecambe RNLI Hovercraft was on a training exercise within Morecambe Bay when the volunteer crew members were asked to assist. Whilst on route the coastguard tasked the RNLI inshore rescue lifeboat to assist.
When crews arrived on scene they assisted the Great North Air Ambulance, North West Air Ambulance, North West Ambulance service and Coastguard Rescue teams to stabilise the casualty and transport them to the awaiting air ambulance.
Another person injured was also taken to hospital by land ambulance.
A spokesperson for the RNLI said: ‘’This was a great multi agency rescue with all teams working together to achieve the best outcome.
‘’We hope the persons injured make a speedy recovery.’’
