A pet shop in Morecambe has closed down after 45 years in business.
Blanco's Pet Shop at 64 Queen Street in the town centre closed for the final time on April 5.
Proprietor Emilio Blanco has decided to retire and return home to Spain.
A post on the Blanco's Pet Shop Facebook page said: "I am sorry to say the door will be closing on 5th April after all these years running the business.
"Sorry and thank you to all my customers for their support over the years."
The shop sold live animals including rabbits, birds, hamsters and fish, as well as pet food and accessories.
Customers and other local people posted their thanks and best wishes to Emilio on his retirement.
One wrote: "This shop and its owners have been an amazing part of this community for a long time and will be very much missed."
Another said: "Such a lovely man. So knowledgeable and always willing to offer advice when my dog was poorly. I hope you have a happy retirement. You will be missed."
