Lancaster On Ice will return in 2025 and so will many other major local events and festivals.
The festivals and events season in Lancaster and Morecambe has suffered recent blows with the announcement that Vintage by the Sea, Lancaster Music Festival and Highest Point will not go ahead this year.
But other events will happen, including the popular outdoor ice skating rink in Dalton Square.
Organisers have announced it will return from November 21 2025 to January 4 2026.
The Lancaster On Ice team posted this week: "In light of all the recent announcements regarding much loved events in Lancaster and Morecambe not happening this year, we thought it was only right that we share the good news that Lancaster On Ice WILL be going ahead in 2025."
The team said that during its opening period of November 2024-January 2025, Lancaster On Ice welcomed 33,000 skaters, more than 10,000 riders on the Chiptech UK Big Wheel, worked with 48 local businesses, hosted 65 local university societies and youth groups, had 10 local schools visit and worked with four charities.
Other events returning in 2025 include Morecambe Music Festival, taking place from July 10 to 13 at venues across Morecambe.
A Morecambe Music Festival spokesperson said: "In light of recent news that both Lancaster Music Festival, Highest Point and The Vintage Festival will NOT go ahead this year….we’d like to make it crystal clear that we will be 100% GOING AHEAD in July!
"It’s very sad that two outstanding festivals will take 2025 off but hopefully they will return in 2026.
"We would like to take this opportunity to invite you all to the biggest summer festival in the area commencing the second weekend of July!"
The Morecambe Music Festival team has also said there will be "exciting new additions" and what "could be a record breaking year" for venues taking part in the event.

Lancaster & Morecambe District Armed Forces Day will also return in 2025, with events being planned for the central Promenade in Morecambe to celebrate our Armed Forces and blue light services.
"With what has been a disappointing few weeks for the local Lancaster and Morecambe region, given the cancellation of the Vintage by the Sea and Lancaster Music Festival, we're hoping to deliver some extremely positive news in the coming weeks," said a spokesperson for the event.
"Armed Forces Day WILL be delivered on Saturday 21 June 2025, bigger and better than last year."
St John's Hospice has also announced that its popular Moonlight Walk will return this year.

Other festivals and events returning in 2025 include the newly-rebranded Sleazy Live, formerly Nice 'N' Sleazy.
Morecambe's longest running music festival will take place from May 23-25 at Johnny's Warehouse Bar, celebrating the music of punk, ska and more.
Bare village in Morecambe will also once again be celebrating Barefest, this year taking place on Saturday June 14.
Look out this month for the returning Lancaster and Morecambe School Aid music festival in aid of local schools (February 14-16) and Baylight light art festival on Morecambe Promenade (February 21 and 22).
Wray Scarecrow Festival returns to Wray village near Lancaster from April 26 to May 5 and the annual Litfest literature festival is back in Lancaster from March 7 to 17.
Confirmed new festivals in 2025 include Prom Fest (April 4 to 6) music festival in venues on Morecambe Promenade, and Love Lancaster Live (October 9 to 12) stepping in during the absence of Lancaster Music Festival as a four-day live music extravaganza in the city.
