An interior designer from Bolton-le-Sands has made the final of a BBC1 show.
Rita Millat will feature in the final of Interior Design Masters, with a life-changing prize of a contract with a UK retailer up for grabs.
Rita, 42, who is a visual merchandising consultant, said she applied for the show that anyone can make a career change.
‘’My main motivation was my love for interior design and the power it has in transforming people’s lives, said Rita.
‘’Also, to prove to myself and other woman that we can change our careers at any time even in our 40s. I loved the show anyway as I was a big fan of it and my dream was that one day I would take part in it.’’
Interior Design Masters is hosted by Alan Carr and interiors guru Michelle Ogundehin, with talented but novice designers looking for their big break in the world of commercial interior design.
Over eight weeks they compete to win a life-changing collaboration contract with a UK retailer to produce their own line of homewares.
Rita won the stand out space in the first episode for designing a bedroom at a Lake District youth hostel, where Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen was among the judges.
The final of Interior Design Masters is on BBC1 on Thursday (May 29) at 8pm.
