An investigation is under way after a fire broke out within the grounds of Heysham 2 power station.
Five fire engines were called to the cylinder fire on the roof of a plant building just before 2pm on Sunday.
Crews from Morecambe, Lancaster, Bolton-le-Sands, Carnforth, and Preston put out the fire and were on site for two hours and 20 minutes.
No Injuries were reported.
A spokesperson for Heysham Power Stations said the fire was small and there was no risk to the public.
She praised the fire service for promptly dealing with the fire and said the cause was as yet unknown, but an investigation would be taking place.
The fire was in the section of the site where a reactor is located, but not close to the reactor and instead towards the side of the site.
The reactor is currently off-line due to a maintenance outage.
