The Singing Ringing Tree is a three-metre-tall structure made from galvanised steel pipes. The pipes are shaped in a curved fashion as if the wind has helped shape it. Carnforth Railway Station – Carnforth, North Lancashire 
David Lean’s film “Brief Encounter” from 1944 takes place in London. But during the war, they obviously could not film such an ambitious film in the capital where German bombers could reach.
So, they travelled to a more remote and inconspicuous location to film the iconic movie: Carnforth Railway Station. The station remains as it was back during the filming process, so you can experience every little detail in the flesh. The movie also plays at the station 24/7 as an homage to the pivotal role it was afforded.
The David Lean heritage museum is also situated there, so you can dive deeper into the life of this iconic movie producer.
