An outdoor carnival and a theatre variety show will once again be part of Lancaster's Chinese New Year celebrations.
This year's festival has two main events - the biggest Chinese cultural variety show in the north of England at Lancaster Grand Theatre on Sunday January 19, and the carnival celebration in Market Square on Sunday January 26.
The variety show includes traditional Chinese dances, authentic Asian instrumental group music performances and singing.
You can get more information and book tickets HERE.
The carnival is free and workshops and stalls begin at 10am.
A Lions and Dragon parade will start at noon straight after the opening ceremony in Market Square.
There will be kung fu, music performances, magic, dances and drum performances
The Festival is funded and supported by Lancashire County Council, Lancaster University, Lancaster University Confucius Institute, Arts Council England, The National Lottery Community Fund, Lancaster BID, Lancaster CVS and Lancaster City Council.
The event is organised by Popber, who said: "At Popber, we are thrilled to usher in the Year of the Snake with our fourth annual Chinese New Year celebration in Lancaster.

"Our dedication to this festival stems from a deep-seated passion for sharing the richness of Asian cultures and commemorating one of Asia's most significant festivals with the vibrant Lancaster community.
"Our commitment to the Chinese New Year Festival is rooted in a desire to bridge cultural gaps and unite diverse communities. We believe this festival is a vivid tapestry, showcasing the vibrant traditions, colorful customs, and lively spirit of Asian cultures. It's an opportunity for understanding, appreciation, and joy, transcending cultural boundaries and bringing people together.
"Each year, our festival is a harmonious blend of the traditional and the contemporary, reflecting the dynamic and evolving nature of Asian culture. From the mesmerizing dragon and lion dances, symbolizing strength and good fortune, to a diverse array of performances encompassing traditional music, dance, and opera, our festival offers a rich taste of Asia's cultural heritage.
"The Chinese New Year Festival in Lancaster is more than a celebration; it's a vibrant community experience. It provides a platform for local and international students, residents, and visitors to engage with and learn about a culture that may be different from their own. It's a chance to create new memories, forge friendships, and experience the inclusivity and warmth that Lancaster is renowned for.
"As we prepare for this year's festivities, we warmly invite everyone in Lancaster to join us in celebrating culture, community, and new beginnings. Let's make the Year of the Snake a memorable time of shared joy and cultural exchange in our beloved city."
