Lancashire County Council is advising passengers to check bus times with their operator before travelling over Christmas as it is likely there will be reduced services running on many routes.
There will be no buses running in Lancashire on Christmas Day, but on Boxing Day and New Year's Day some bus companies will run a limited service. There is the possibility that services could be changed at short notice due to staff shortages caused by Covid-19. You can find contact details for commercial bus operators, and more information about arrangements for Lancashire County Council-supported buses over Christmas and New Year by searching 'bus service changes' at lancashire.gov.uk. Traveline is open every day apart from Christmas Day, so you can call to speak to a travel advisor to find out about all public transport services in Lancashire and beyond on 0871 200 22 33 (calls from landlines cost 12p a minute plus your phone company's access charge). To prevent the spread of coronavirus, everyone is currently required by law to wear a face covering inside bus stations and while travelling on public transport (unless exempt).
