'The Ballad of Tom Jones' band Space to perform at Lancaster Music Festival

Liverpool band Space - famed for their 1990s hits including 'The Ballad of Tom Jones' and 'Female of the Species' - will perform at Lancaster Music Festival this year.

The band - who have sold more than five million records worldwide - have been announced as the headliners at The Pub on Sunday October 15.

The Pub, located on China Street in the city centre, is hugely popular as a venue for live music.

"We are thrilled to be hosting Space as Sunday headliners at this years Lancaster Music Festival," said a post on The Pub's Facebook page, where they also shared this video.

Space have released two Top 5 double platinum albums 'Spiders' and 'Tin Planet' along with 10 UK Top 40 singles also including 'Avenging Angels', 'Neighbourhood' and 'Me and You Versus the World'.

'The Ballad of Tom Jones' was a duet with Cerys Matthews and reached number four in the UK charts in 1998.

'Female of the Species' is also famed as the theme to the ITV comedy series Cold Feet.

Space has announced a 25th anniversary tour for 2023 where they will be playing the hits from 'Spiders' and 'Tin Planet'.

The gig is on Sunday October 15.

Doors are at 7pm and tickets are priced at £15.
