A free street food and drink festival is coming to Lancaster Castle over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
One More Bite features 15 street food traders, 20 artisan food producers, craft beers and locally distilled spirits, cooking demonstrations, and more, as is a partnership between Kanteena and Lancaster Castle.
It’s on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 22-24, between midday and 10pm each day, and is free to attend.
From artisan kebabs to authentic tacos, cheeses to sausages and hot sauces to beers & spirits, the event will also offer pitches to local eateries such as restaurants and bars, so they have a different platform to advertise their food to a potentially new audience.
A spokesperson said: ‘’This brings on the added importance of involving more businesses in the town leading to more people talking about the event in an upbeat manner. We are sure that this kind of event can only improve the culture of food in Lancaster.
‘’We are heavily into the theatre of food and the amazing first impressions you get from the food that you’re about to eat as you watch it being cooked. We will be working with street food traders who can bring this theatre to the Castle and go that extra mile to make your food taste better.
‘’We’re so lucky in the North West to have so many amazing breweries and distilleries and our job is to showcase as many of them as possible over the weekend, provide some amazing alternative gluten free & alcohol free products and again, introduce you to some great new suppliers.
‘’DJs from near and far will converge on the Castle to provide the musical backdrop to our weekend within the walls whilst outside we will have acoustic performers in and around the producers market.
‘’Kids will be kept company by a host of fun, food orientated workshops & demos whilst most traders will be offering children’s sized meals.’’
Following One More Bite, there will be more events including a Christmas themed market with the emphasis being as much about craft shopping stalls as food stalls.
Any traders interested in this event should contact traders@kanteena.co.uk
They ask that the craft products you have for sale are made by yourself, or at the very least made in the UK. Food traders will be given priority on originality of their product, stall appearance, hygiene rating & locality.
