Lancaster City Football Club have completed the signing of prolific striker James Bailey from Kendal Town.
The striker - who has scored 85 goals in 3 seasons at the Westmorland Flooring Stadium is heading down the M6 and is linking up once again with Jimmy Marshall, who was in charge of the Mintcakes before taking over at the Giant Axe.
Before joining Kendal in 2023, Bailey was just as prolific in the West Lancashire League for Walney Island.
Marshall said: "He is going to come in and give competition for places up front. He is a goal scorer, hard worker.
‘’We think he will fit into our style of play and it’s an opportunity for him to go and push himself and step up 2 levels, which he has done before.
‘’He is a great lad on and off the pitch and we know he’ll be another who will come and fit into the dressing room superbly."
James Bailey added: “I’m more than happy to be down here at Lancaster!
‘’I’m glad for a new challenge and a new change of scenery and going off the back of last season, I am really excited to get stuck in!”
The striker’s arrival is the first fresh face of the summer, after Toby Oliver and Brad Kelly signed new contracts to extend their stay at the Giant Axe.
