Morecambe’s Dave Chisnall was defeated in the semi-finals of the Hungarian Darts Trophy over the weekend.
He was beaten by eventual tournament winner, Joe Cullen, who claimed his third European Tour title and a fourth tournament win of 2022.
The PDC European Tour's second visit to Budapest saw the BOK Sportcsarnok enjoy some sensational darts across three days of action.
Chisnall was disappointed to miss three missed match darts during the semi-final, before Cullen produced a 12-dart closing leg to complete a 7-6 victory.
In a close contest, Cullen led 4-3 following a 106 checkout but then Chisnall recorded checkouts of 74 and 83, to break and move 5-4 up, only for Cullen to reply with an 11-dart leg to break back.
Chizzy then went on to make it 6-5 only, before his three missed match darts allowed Cullen back into the contest, winning the last two legs.
