Morecambe Football Club will return to play Altrincham at home this Saturday - the club has confirmed.
The Shrimps announced their opening fixture of the 2025/26 season will take place as scheduled this Saturday (August 23), ending uncertainty over whether the game could be played so soon after recent financial and ownership issues.
The match at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium will kick off at 12.30pm.
A party atmosphere is expected, as Morecambe fans get the chance to express their delight and relief that the club has been saved after fears of extinction over the past few troubled weeks.
It comes after the National League lifted the club's suspension, following the sale of Morecambe FC to new owners Panjab Warriors.
The Shrimps were unable to play their first three scheduled games of the season due to the suspension.
