Morecambe boxer Owen Kirk’s rematch against the man who delivered his only career loss has been postponed.
'The Captain' was due to box Jake Bray at Blackpool Winter Gardens just months after suffering his only loss as a professional to the Yorkshireman.
This was set be the first six round bout in the Morecambe middleweight's career, but has been postponed as a mark of respect following the death of Her Majesty, the Queen.
In a video message, Owen said: ‘’There’s nothing we can do, it’s gutting but we must show our respect in these sad times.
‘’Everyone will get a ticket refund in due course.
‘’Thanks to my sponsors, stay with me, a new date will be announced soon.
‘’Have a safe weekend and I appreciate everyone standing by me.’’
