Lancaster City will be looking to end their search for a first win of the season when they visit Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday.

City have started their campaign with two draws, both of which boss Mark Fell believed his team had the potential to turn into wins. Meanwhile, the home side come into the match off the back of two consecutive defeats and are yet to score this season.

However, Mark Fell is aware that the Northern Premier League is an unpredictable and tough league, so there will be no room for complacency. Speaking to the club website on Tuesday night, he said: “There’s no easy games. They (Stalybridge) are a good side and they’ve got good players. Every game is an even-money game for me.”

Fell is hopeful that ‘a few players’ out of the six or seven who are currently out of action "might be back for Saturday".

The Dollies had to bring off midfielder Brad Carroll on Tuesday against Marine and it’s looking like he’ll be out for four to six weeks, whereas David Norris, who was absent in midweek, has a strain which Fell says has to be managed carefully.

“We also need to look at what tonight (August 16) has taken out of people”, he said.

With all of that in mind, at least one or two changes in the starting 11 are to be expected.

Stalybridge Celtic vs Lancaster City kicks off at Bower Fold at 3pm this Saturday.
