Dave Chisnall's hunt for a first ever televised major title goes on after he was knocked out of the World Grand Prix in Leicester.

Chizzy was beaten 3-1 by Dimitri Van den Bergh on Thursday evening despite taking the opening set.

The Morecambe man capitalised on missed doubles from the Belgian to surge 1-0 ahead, but Van den Bergh then won a scrappy second set without reply to draw level.

Van den Bergh then moved through the gears to go 2-1 ahead, including back-to-back 180s in the third leg.

Chisnall looked set to level the match after taking out a superb 144 finish in the fourth set.

But Van den Bergh kept his cool to claim the next leg and move into the quarter-finals.

Chizzy had looked impressive in his opening match of the tournament, beating Cameron Menzies without dropping a leg.

The darting ace, ranked number five in the world, came into the Grand Prix after wins in the Players Championship 23 Tournament and the Flanders Darts Trophy,
