Fans of a Morecambe venue are being invited to an open afternoon to hear about plans for its future including two proposed new festivals.
Proposals are at an early stage for a possible beer festival and a 'Last Night at the Proms' themed festival at the Platform.
The Friends of the Platform hold a free open afternoon every first Wednesday of the month between 1pm and 4pm, and are inviting people to pop along to the event tomorrow (Wednesday November 5) to find out more.
David Morgan, chair of the Friends of the Platform, told Beyond Radio the festival proposals were "very much at the planning stage" and it would be "nice to have festivals centred around the Platform".
Other plans at the Platform include to back-light the clock at the front of the former railway station, which was originally installed in 1907 and is now fully working.
The Friends are also working with the team at the venue to replace all of its 400 seats, and fundraiser evenings are being planned in November, January and February.
The group held its bi-monthly General Member Meeting on Monday evening, to talk about its latest projects and successes.
Mr Morgan said he was delighted with the turnout, particularly in the bad weather.
The Platform is owned, operated, and managed by Lancaster City Council as an entertainments centre and general community facility.
The Friends group was formed in 2023 after a period of uncertainty over the building's future.
The former railway station opened as the Platform in 1997. The building is also home to the Station Promenade pub.
If you are interested to learn more about the future plans for the Platform, would like to be involved, or just fancy a cuppa and a chat, pop along to the venue on Marine Road on Wednesday from 1pm to 4pm. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided.
