An inter-station football match between the two Heysham Power Stations has raised thousands for charity.
Teams from Heysham 1 and Heysham 2 raised almost £6,000 for the Alzheimer's Society, official charity of the station owners EDF, in what a Heysham Power Stations spokesperson said was the first ever inter-station fixture.
The event at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium, home of Morecambe FC, drew a packed crowd of colleagues, family and friends.
Heysham 1 took an early lead with a goal from Dom Westcott before Joe Wareing equalised for Heysham 2.
In the second-half, Shaun Sailor put Heysham 1 ahead before Dan Lindsay, a first year apprentice, sealed a 3-1 win.
Tim Last from Heysham 1 was named man of the match.
Patrick Rabbett, coach of Heysham 1, said "it was a great day of football" and Carl Naylor, coach of Heysham 2, said "the real victory was the amount raised and the sense of community it created".
The stations hope it will become an annual fixture.
Staff across both stations are gearing up for an upcoming Heysham to Hartlepool 100-mile cycling challenge for the Alzheimer's Society, on July 10 and 11.
