The Garstang and District Agricultural and Horticultural Society, which organises the local celebration of showcase of farming, food and the countryside, have announced that they are planning for the show to be held on Saturday August 7th 2021.
Garstang Show always has and always will be about community. What may seem to many as just another event is, in reality, a way to bring the local community together to learn about, enjoy and celebrate the role farming, food and the countryside plays in all of our lives.
The pandemic has hit us all hard and has had a devastating impact on the lives of so many, yet through it all our farmers have kept on going. After much deliberation, the Directors of the Garstang and District Agricultural and Horticultural Society have decided to echo the spirit of the farming community and have declared that “the show will go on”.
Chairman of the Garstang and District Agricultural and Horticultural Society, Helen Smith, says
“Things may look a little different to previous years and we are still ironing out the details of what the event can safely include, but it is hoped that the majority of classes and displays will continue as normal. All further details will be announced in due course on our website and social media channels. While planning is well underway, we will be regularly reviewing the latest Government guidance and would like to stress that the show will only go ahead if it is safe for all involved.“
The show’s organisers are still refining what the event will safely include and all further details will be announced in due course on Garstang Show’s website and social media channels.
