Morecambe Football Club’s initiative for the Ukraine relief effort has seen the latest lorry-load of donations being sent to the country.
Generous fans and residents have been dropping off items at both the Mazuma Stadium and Thornton Road Spar. In recent days they’ve been sorted and boxed, with club management and players even getting involved in the efforts, all co-ordinated by Co-Chairman, Rod Taylor.
A spokesperson for the club said: ‘’The Mazuma has been used for those wishing to drop off vital supplies.
‘’The response has been amazing from local residents, with one van load of donations already making its way to Ukraine.
‘’This past week has seen another huge array of items being dropped off, ready for another trip.
‘’Members of the first team squad kindly gave up their time to help sort through them and box them up, ready for transportation.’’
