Management at a Morecambe shopping centre have been out clearing rubbish from the streets of the West End.
A team from the Arndale, Morecambe Bay, collected 25 bags of rubbish from the streets and alleyways on Monday.
They had asked local people for suggestions of grot-spots to target and the West End was suggested.
“Back in March we held a litter pick of the beach and Promenade and committed ourselves to giving more time to further litter picks in the future," said Craig Allen, centre manager of the Arndale.
"Having asked local people for suggestions of where they thought we should visit for our next effort the West End was suggested and so we arranged, with Morecambe Town Council’s support, to undertake a litter pick of this area.
"We started from Bold Street and managed to cover quite a large area over a three hour period. It was great to hear the words of encouragement from passers by and we will endeavour to make these events a regular part of our calendar.”
The litter pick was carried out by the centre management team at Lambert Smith Hampton and AM Services Group, as part of the Arndale's commitment to Keep Britain Tidy.
