Visiting has been reinstated on a ward at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary that was closed for a week due to a norovirus outbreak.
Castle View West - Ward 23 - had halted visiting last Tuesday due to the outbreak affecting patients and staff.
A spokesperson for the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Foundation Trust said: ‘’Visiting is reinstated, following a review of current infection control measures and in line with Trust guidance.
‘’We kindly ask for your understanding and co-operation in adhering to hand hygiene guidance, especially on entrance and exiting the ward.
‘’Please do not visit if you are feeling unwell or have symptoms of seasonal illnesses, such as flu or norovirus.
‘’We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe environment for our patients and colleagues. If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to colleagues on the ward.’’
