Several roads have been closed after a fire broke out at council flats on a Lancaster estate.
Firefighters were called to Bronte House, Shakespeare Road on the Vale, at 1.39pm on Tuesday.
"Six fire engines and the aerial ladder platform were called to a domestic building fire," said a spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.
"Firefighters used six breathing apparatus, one 45mm jet, one hose reel and the aerial ladder platform to tackle the fire.
"Several roads in the local area have been temporarily closed. Crews remain in attendance."
The scene at Bronte House on Tuesday afternoon.

A resident who escaped the fire told Beyond Radio said there had been extensive damage caused to his flat.

A spokesperson for Lancaster City Council, said: “Following a fire earlier today at Bronte House on Shakespeare Road in Lancaster, we can confirm that there have been no casualties.
“Council officers have been liaising with residents and working to provide emergency accommodation for those affected, although some residents have found their own alternative accommodation.
“Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service remain in attendance, and we are taking all necessary steps to make the building safe and secure overnight. As a precaution, the property has been disconnected from gas and electricity.
“Our priority is the wellbeing and security of all the residents affected, and we will continue to work with closely with them.
“Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.”
