Residents were delighted to see the Red Arrows fly in formation over Lancaster - but some were left disappointed as it was two hours later than scheduled.

Many fans of the RAF display team were looking forward to seeing them fly over our District en route to the Blackpool Airshow at the announced time of around 4.20pm on Friday.

But as flight times are always subject to change due to weather or other requirements, they actually flew over the Lancaster area at around 6.20pm, after taking off from RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire.

Still, some local people were able to catch a glimpse of the Red Arrows, or hear the roar of them overhead, including Grace Brandwood who took a photo of them over Lancaster.

The Red Arrows are due to perform over Blackpool Promenade on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, weather permitting.
