Police have put out an appeal for information after a man with a large bottle tried to break into a house in Morecambe.
The attempted break-in was on Claremont Crescent at around 11pm on March 15.
Det Insp Adie Knowles of Lancaster Police said a man went into a back yard, tried the door handle and then tried to smash a window into the back of the house with a large bottle.
"At that point I think they realised they were on CCTV and then they made off," he said, speaking on his regular 'Beyond the Beat' on Beyond Radio on Tuesday.
He said that police are looking for a white male, with hood up, a large bottle in his hand, cap underneath, dark bubble jacket and dark pants.
Det Insp Knowles said officers are also investigating garage and shed break-ins on Hibbert Terrace in Lancaster, one on the morning of March 10 and one overnight.
Chainsaws and tools were stolen in one burglary, and two bicycles in the other.
