Police appeal after car torched at Heysham on owner's first day in new home

Police are investigating an arson after a car was torched on the owner's first day in her new home in Heysham.

The incident happened on Greenfinch Way in Heysham on Saturday February 22 at around 11pm.

The woman who owns the car posted a picture of the burned-out black BMW X1 on Facebook and said: "First day in the new home and my car has been set on fire deliberately."

Det Insp Adie Knowles of Lancaster Police appealed for information during his regular 'Beyond the Beat' on Beyond Radio on Tuesday.

"If you saw anything suspcious or know anything about that crime, please ring in and let us know," he said.

"It's caused significant damage to that vehicle, and luckily nothing else set on fire.

"The folks had just moved in, so we'd like to do our utmost to find out who has done that."
