Plans have been unveiled to convert a former charity shop into a cocktail bar in Lancaster city centre.
A 'change of use' application has gone in to Lancaster City Council to allow the new modern bar - named Mono Loco - to open at 52 Market Street.
The 19th Century Grade II listed premises was previously home to a St John's Hospice charity shop.
"The proposed works at 52 Market Street are minor, sensitive interventions that will secure the long-term re-use of a vacant listed building," said a statement submitted with the plans.
"They preserve the special interest of the listed building, support the vitality of the town centre and Conservation Area, are reversible, non-invasive, and in line with planning policy and do not affect archaeological sensitivity
"Mono Loco’s re-use of the space represents a positive step in the ongoing stewardship of Lancaster’s built heritage."
The applicant is Antonio Martinez of The Cocktail Experience Ltd.
The plans can be found in the planning section of the Lancaster City Council website, reference number 25/00450/FUL.
The council will make a decision on whether to grant planning permission, in due course.
