The Parade of Sail near Morecambe Hovercraft Station on Saturday

A special Parade of Sail on Morecambe Bay has marked the 200th anniversary of the lifeboat service.

Morecambe lifeboat crew, the local sea cadets, Morecambe Bay Sailing Club, Lancaster Canoe Club and Morecambe Jet Skis took part in a Parade of Sail on Saturday.

The Morecambe inshore lifeboat led the parade of vessels on the water between the town's two lifeboat stations, delighting crowds as they arrived at a family fun day held at the hovercraft station to mark 200 years of the RNLI.

The fun day also included performances by the Happy Feet cheerleaders and the Mizzen Crew sea shanty singers.

The event was officially opened by Councillor Hamish Mills, deputy mayor of Lancaster.

Beyond Radio hosted a live radio show from the event on Saturday afternoon.
