Around 70 classic cars began an annual 160-mile tour setting off from Morecambe's art deco Midland Hotel.

The Lancashire Automobile Club Coast to Coast Classic tour started at the Midland and then finished at Dunsley Hall at Sandsend near Whitby on Saturday.

The annual drive, which takes a different route each year as it wends its way from coast to coast, had 69 entries from all over the North West.

Established in 1902 to promote motorsport and represent the Lancashire motorist, the Lancashire Automobile Club is recognised as the second oldest motor club with a continuous history.

The Coast to Coast Classic is one of several road events organised by the club.
