A person has died on the rail tracks between Lancaster and Preston.
National Rail were called shortly after 10am today, to an incident which left all lines closed, and significant disruption.
British Transport Police say the death is not thought to be suspicious.
All lines have since reopened, but delays remain this afternoon, with some services also cancelled.
The disruption is affecting the Avanti West Coast service between Edinburgh/Glasgow Central and London Euston, Northern between Barrow-in-Furness/Windermere and Manchester Airport, and TransPennine Express between Edinburgh / Glasgow Central and Manchester Airport, and between Glasgow Central and Liverpool Lime Street.

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on the Avanti West Coast train immediately before, or immediately after the cancelled one.
A rail replacement shuttle service is in operation between Lancaster and Preston.
