The 53rd Lancaster Scout Group celebrates its 60th birthday at the weekend.
There’s a celebration taking place on Saturday (September 24), in the Scout Hut at Greaves Park in Scotforth.
Any past members of the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, or group leaders from over the years are invited to join in the celebrations, which are taking place through the day from 10am.
The group are also wanting to produce a memory board for the event, and are asking past members to share their memories.
You can contact them by email at 53rdlancaster@gmail.com for more information.
The group moved into their current Scout HQ in Greaves Park back in 1979, moving from a hut on Bowerham Road, opposite Dale Street.
To commemorate the occasion the Mayor of Lancaster, Councillor Mrs Ivy Welldrake unveiled a plaque on the building, that was built by Jim Johnstone, the then Cub leader who owned a building firm.
