The Beyond Radio team has been deeply saddened by the sudden death of our colleague Jonathon Pearson.
Jonathon, 26, was the presenter of 'The Morning Show with JP' on Saturdays on our radio station, having joined us as a volunteer in August 2017.
He previously hosted the Jonathon Pearson Football Show and also took part in our outside events, including at Beaumont College in Lancaster where he was a student and resident.
Jonathon was also a multi-time award winner at the Beyond Radio Volunteer Awards, winning the 'Say it Like it Is' award in 2022 (pictured below) and a Director's Award in 2023.

He was a huge Morecambe Football Club fan and a regular supporter at their games.
In 2023 he moved into independent living accommodation in Morecambe and began learning Romanian as one of his carers Christina was Romanian. He would often bring new phrases he had learned to his show.
"The sad, sudden loss of Jonathon has been felt right across the station," said Duncan Moore, managing director of Beyond Radio.
"JP, as he became known at Beyond, was a fun-loving young man who could always lift your spirits with his sense of humour and positive outlook on life.
"He was thoughtful and caring and would never shy away from speaking his mind, especially on the subject of football, which he loved.
"Beyond Radio was far richer for having JP involved as a volunteer and he was very enthusiastic about his role as a presenter with us.
"This was demonstrated through him winning several well deserved volunteer awards over his time with us.
"There is a great deal of sadness among our team, as I'm sure there will be with anyone who knew Jonathon. He will be greatly missed and has left a huge gap here at Beyond Radio."
Jonathon is pictured below with Duncan Moore, Beyond Radio station director, at our Volunteer Awards Night in December 2023.

Our thoughts are with Jonathon's family and friends.
