The next mayor of Lancaster has been chosen to take office in 2024.
Councillor Abi Mills will don the robes from May 2024 following a vote of councillors.
Councillor Mills, a Green group member who represents Scotforth West ward in Lancaster, will take over from current mayor Roger Dennison.
She was chosen as mayor-elect at a meeting of Lancaster City Council on December 13 and will take office for a year.
Councillor Mills' son Hamish is also a Lancaster city councillor for the Greens.
