New cycle and pedestrian friendly crossing completed in Morecambe

Work has been completed on an eye-catching new cycle and pedestrian friendly crossing in Morecambe.

In recent days, work has been undertaken on the crossing at Hillmore Way, near to Morrisons.

The new Bay Rose crossing is part of the revamp to the area, with the aim to vastly improve the road markings to make it more cycle and pedestrian friendly.

The path features images of native flowers - including a wild rose, which marks the well-known Way of The Roses cycle path.

Although Lancaster City Council aren’t usually responsible for highways matters, the work, which was needed as the previous line markings were worn away and in some places were no longer visible, was able to be carried out thanks to UKSPF funding from the government.
