The fast actions of the local lifeboat crew saved a swimmer in difficulty from being swept out to sea in Morecambe Bay.
On Sunday evening, the volunteer RNLI rescue team was called into action, launching a lifeboat to find a swimmer overdue after an extensive search.
The crew located the individual 45 minutes later in the water near the end of the Stone Jetty, who crews described as 'being swept dangerously out to sea.'
They were given critical paramedic assistance by the emergency services.
The rescue came after being diverted there by the coastguard, while they were on route to assist with another call, responding to a report of a persons trapped in a vehicle submerged in water at Sunderland Point.

While the lifeboat crew located the swimmer, the volunteer hovercraft crew continued to the scene on the Hurley Flyer, where they were met by Lancashire Fire and Rescue teams. The fire service located the casualties safe and well.
A spokesperson for Morecambe RNLI said: ‘’It was a remarkable evening of swift response and teamwork, showcasing the dedication and bravery of our rescue crews.
‘’A huge thank you to our partner agencies.’’
