A Morecambe pub licensee will be taking over his third premises in the local area later this year.
David Hutton plans to reopen the Cumberland View on Heysham Road in June.
David already runs The Pier and the Joiners Arms in Morecambe town centre.
A true sand grown'un, he was born in the Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and went to Lancaster Road Primary and Morecambe High Schools.
David had been living in New Zealand for 17 years, then after returning home, decided to apply to take over the Pier alongside other members of his family in spring 2022. He is pictured here with sister Mandy (right) and her granddaughter Chloe.

After the success of running the Pier, he then took over the Joiners in the autumn of last year.

The Cumberland (pictured below in January 2023) has been closed since the turn of the year after the previous tenant retired. Like The Joiners, the premises is owned by Thwaites Brewery.
A major refurbishment will take place before the pub reopens.
