A Morecambe family has taken over at one of the town's most famous pubs.
David Hutton is the new licensee at the Pier Hotel on the promenade, and will be helped by his sister Mandy Butterworth, her husband Kieran and her granddaughter Chloe.
David is a true sand grown'un, having been born in the Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and went to Lancaster Road Primary and Morecambe High Schools.
He has been living in New Zealand for the past 17 years, then after returning home, decided to apply to take over the Pier, which is located opposite the site of the town's former Central Pier.
"I was having a coffee with my sister and she told me the Pier was available," he said.
"I made the application and here we are!
"We're not going to change much. We've got a lot of lovely regular people who come in and we're going to stay a traditional pub.
"We've got a tough act to follow from the licensees who have just gone out, they've done a good job, and made the pub what it is. We're going to follow that.
"There will be general changes that won't upset clients. We're going to get the rooms made available for accommodation, especially if the Eden Project comes. That would be enormous for the whole town. It would transform Morecambe."
Listen to David Hutton and Mandy Butterworth talking about their plans for the Pier Hotel.
Mandy has worked in local entertainment for 20 years and will be booking live music at the Pier.

She said a few more local acts would perform at the pub, alongside the regular tribute acts, karaoke with Shirley, and veteran Pier performer, Frank McGregor.
"Frank is brilliant! said Mandy.
"He's 79 year old, and he plays the accordion, and does four hours for us on a Monday. He gets the regulars up and they sing a song with him. People love him. What a character!"
