A free bike security coding day is being held at a bicycle shop on Morecambe seafront.
Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) will be at Bays Bikes on Marine Road Central in Morecambe between 1pm and 3pm on Friday August 11 offering free cycle marking for any bicycles you own.
Having your bicycle marked means that if your bike is ever stolen and recovered by the police, it can be traced back to you.
The cycle marking kits consist of a unique code which is applied to your cycle frame and your details are held on a secure online database called BikeRegister, which all UK Police Forces have access to.
Police secured the funding from Lancashire Partnership Against Crime (LANPAC) and Morecambe Business Improvement District (BID) to supply the kits at no charge.
You are invited to pop along to the event with your bicycle on the day. It takes only a few minutes to mark and complete a BikeRegister form.
