Police searching for a missing Lancaster man say they believe that he has died in an incident in Bristol.
Lancashire Police had issued an appeal to trace 26-year-old for Carl Whiteside, after he’d been missing since Wednesday morning.
Now, in a statement, police said: "As our enquiries were continuing colleagues from Avon and Somerset Police received a report that a man had fallen from the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol.
‘’Very sadly, although we cannot be certain, all the evidence we have so far leads us to believe that this person was Carl. Enquiries are on-going to confirm this.
‘’Carl’s family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.
‘’We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who shared and supported our previous appeal in our search to find Carl.
‘’Stay safe everyone.’’
