A Carnforth man is running seven marathons in seven days to raise money for St John’s Hospice.
Mark Hinchliffe will begin the epic challenge next Monday (March 28th), and will complete a marathon distance every day during the week, recorded by a running app, starting at the County Hotel and following the same route.
The challenge will end with Mark taking part in the official Manchester Marathon on Sunday, April 3rd.
Mark says: ‘’Last year I ran a minimum of 5km every day throughout the whole of 2021, raising over £2,600 to charity and this year I wanted to do a challenge to raise money for a local cause that are valuable to the people they care for and also their families.
‘’For over 30 years now, many people and families have had access to the fantastic care and support that St John's Hospice provide. By doing a little, we can help a lot and, by putting myself through something as gruelling as running a marathon is one thing, but 7 in 7 days is a very daunting prospect, but very worthwhile to raise some much-needed support for such a fantastic charity.
‘’Please support me during this challenge and donate, any amount you can, as it is for a very worthy cause.’’
If you would like to offer any support to Mark, by running, cycling, driving part of the route alongside him please contact fundraising@sjhospice.org.uk for more details.
