Man arrested after ‘threatening to burn down’ building in Morecambe

A man has been arrested after ‘threatening to burn down’ a building in Morecambe.

Police were called to Regent Road just before 4pm yesterday (July 10) to reports of a man threatening to set fire to a building.

The road was closed off while officers negotiated with a man, who witnesses say was throwing items out of the window.

A police vehicle was damaged during the incident.

A 27-year-old from Morecambe was subsequently arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to a vehicle and later charged.
