A man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a road crash in Lancaster.
Emergency services were called to the Wyresdale Road/Littlefell Lane area on Wednesday at around 10.20am, to a collision involving a van and a car.
Firefighters freed the man, in his 50s, from his vehicle and he was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "At 10:18, two fire engines from Lancaster and Morecambe attended a road traffic collision on Littlefell Lane, Lancaster.
"This was a road traffic collision involving two vehicles with one casualty trapped. The casualty was released from a vehicle by firefighters and was later conveyed to hospital via air ambulance.
"Fire crews were in attendance for one hour and 15 minutes."
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: "We were called by the North West Ambulance at 10.22am today to Wyresdale Road, Lancaster, to a report of a road traffic collision.
"Our officers attended and it was found that a van and a car had been in collision. A man in his 50s suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by air ambulance."
